Tarpy Heating and Air actually made my day today on the freeway when I was on my way to work just by a friendly smile.
They actually also installed my complete heating and air system on my brand newly built home in 2008 and I have never had an issue with it since. That’s why I had to come here and comment since now they were fresh on my mind again.

Just got through withy appt with Tarpy to check out my heating unit (was just blowing cold air). Overall, very good experience dealing with Tarpy from scheduling to being on time and being friendly and trustworthy. Very good communications (email alert to let me know who my technician would be, a 20 min call in advance from the tech, and good explanation of the fix needed for my heater).
It turned out that the refrigerant in my unit needed to be topped off. Since it is an old unit, the tech needed to use the old stuff which is much more expensive than the new gas (government controlled stuff). He quoted me a price and gave me a few minutes to call a few other shops to compare pricing. The other shops said the pricing was reasonable and to go with Tarpy since the tech was already there.
Richard, the tech was done within 45 min from the time he arrived. My heater is working great now!

Today was our first time using Tarpy and will certainly use them again.
Crystal was professional and courteous when scheduling my appointment and was equally as helpful when I called back the-day-of to change the “30 minutes before the appointment” phone number.
Rick was very knowledgeable about our furnace and educated me on some of its finer points. Additionally, he installed the NEST thermostat and trained me on how to use it.
The total installation and fuse-replacing rate was about $50 higher than the “diagnostic” rate, but in my opinion it was totally worth it for the peace of mind (I blew the fuse when I attempted to install the NEST and the wires touched). Rick even showed me where the fuse was in case I make another bone head move…
Would certainly recommend them to anyone.
I went to YELP to help me select a heating and air conditioning company. All I can say is THANK YOU YELP!! The Tarpy reviews sold me and when John came out yesterday and serviced both our heating and cooling systems – he was very thorough and explained everything and the cost involved. He was efficient, very knowledgeable and pleasant. They have a customer for life with us and I will certainly tell everyone I know about this excellent company!! Thank you again Tarpy!
After speaking with Paul since my last review, due to my dissatisfaction with their service, he was very nice and wanted to work with me. We came to an agreement and he wanted to do business, so I agreed and I was surely satisfied. He sent his Service Manager, Richard, to fix our heater which needed a new fan motor and a heat sensor. He was wonderful and very nice to my elderly mother. There was a part he didn’t have, so he went to the warehouse, came back a few mins. later and installed it. I was expecting to set another appointment, but he did it all in one day and everything is working great. Paul was even so nice to do a follow-up call right after Richard left to make sure I was satisfied. I’m very happy that we were able to work something out with Tarpy and get our heater fix. I changed my mind and will for sure recommend Tarpy Heating and Air. Thank you Paul and Richard!
